New Programming Alert
Starting next week, on the 3rd Tuesday of each month, KMQT will be taken over by a different artist each month. It's called the Tuesday Takeover. Next Tuesday, March 18, We'll be taken over by the music of Kraftwerk.
The Player is Now Secure & New Player URL
Good news! The KMQT server now has HTTPS capability! Additionally, the KMQT player now has a new web address. You can now access the KMQT web player directly by visiting http://player.kmqt.us.
It's Officially Official Now
It's officially official now. KMQT is now back on the air! Listen now to hear awesome features like The Album of the Day, Mashed Potatoes, Darbus's Faves, and more. And, of course, don't forget about the great music on air 24/7. I currently have a random selection of music from my music library playing non-stop.
Launch Date Announced
It's official. KMQT (Kumquat Radio) now has a re-launch date. KMQT will officially open for business on Monday, February 17, 2025, which just happens to be the one-year anniversary of the date the station shut down. I know the original plan was to be off the air for just a few months, but better late than never, I suppose.
I'm pleased to announce, however, that the station is currently up and running as I continue to finalize the programming of the station and The Darbus Show. You're welcome to follow the link above to open the player or navigate directly to http://kmqt.us.to to hear a mix of music that I've produced under the name PhazeShift!
Coming Back
Sheesh, it's been a while! Well it took longer than anticipated, but KMQT (Kumquat Radio) is finally coming back!
During the last week of 2024, I purchased a small computer to use as the host of the radio streaming software, AzuraCast. That computer arrived last Thursday, January 9. I've spent the last week attempting to get everything installed on there that I need to run the station. I still need to do a little more testing and get a few more things set up, but we're on track for a grand return. A definite date hasn't been set yet, but should be announced soon.

Brief Hiatus
I'm sad to say that KMQT (Kumquat Radio) already needs to go on a brief hiatus. For the next few weeks, I will have neither the money nor the time to keep the station going. I've discovered, however, that the software that my stearming hosting service offers is free and open-source. So, when I return, I hope to be hosting the stream on my home computer.
KMQT is now offline, and my hosting account deleted. I don't have a return date determined yet, but I'm hoping to be back on the air by late April or early May. In that time, I plan to have a new, spiffed up website, and new programming that will hopefully not take so uch of my limited free time to prepare.

Programming Change
Well, it's not even been a week since the official launch, and I'm already making changes. I've decided to cancel the High School Reunion segment on Saturday mornings and replace it with an Artist Spotlight. Each week, I'll choose an artist and play an hour's worth of some of their best tracks. The Artist Spotlight rolls in on January 13th!

Darbus Show Pre-Launch Special
Join me on Wednesday, December 27, for the Darbus Show Pre-Launch Special! I'll be hosting a shortened version of the Darbus Show as one last live test before the official January 2nd launch of the station. The show will air from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., Mountain Time, and will follow the live schedule as noted on the Darbus Show page. The programming items listed in the 9:00 hour, however, will not featured this time. I hope to see you all there!

Live Show Test Run
I plan to do a test live broadcast on Friday, December 8 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm (MST). It will be a shortened broadcast just to make sure everything is working and ready for the relaunch of The Darbus Show. Come join me for some great music.
